The Bhagavad Gita is a 700-verse Hindu scripture set on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, framed as a dialogue between the warrior Arjuna and his divine guide, Lord Krishna. Its purpose is to resolve Arjuna's existential moral dilemma and provide universal guidance on selfless duty, devotion, and self-realization to achieve spiritual liberation. Below are the verses spoken by Krishna only.

Arjuna, where has this weakness come from at such a critical moment? It is unworthy of a noble person, brings no path to heaven, and earns no honour. Krishna's very first words are not comfort but a sharp challenge — he calls Arjuna's collapse out of character before offering any teaching.

Verse 2.2
